There are around 150 public parks in Toowoomba. Some of the most popular are Picnic Point, Queens Park and Lake Annand Park.Picnic Point
Situated 710 metres above sea level, Picnic Point has extensive views over the Lockyer Valley. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Toowoomba and home to many community events throughout the year. Queens Park
Covering an area of 26.3 hectares, Queens Park is just a short walk from the centre of town. Queens Park is picturesque at any time of year, however it is particularly impressive during the Carnival of Flowers. The open spaces of the park are used for various events including the Gospel Music Festival (Easterfest), Christmas Carols and markets.Part of the park was established as a Botanic Garden in 1875 and was planned and developed by a Government Botanist, Walter Hill.
Lake Annand Park
Lake Annand is an artificial lake situated on East Creek and is a popular place for bird life. The park lines the shores of the lake and with barbeques and playground, Lake Annand is a popular place for a Sunday afternoon picnic. However, at just two hectares in size, you'd better arrive early to secure your little piece of this peaceful location.The design of the park subtly references New Zealand geysers and lava flows and features distinctive New Zealand plants.
