Toowoomba Library

The Toowoomba City Library contains over 200,000 items and is located conveniently in the centre of the city.

The Local History Library contains an impressive collection of rare and historical books about the local Toowoomba community and surrounding areas.

Joining the Library

The library provides a free service for everyone who lives within Toowoomba. People who live in the boundaries of the Toowoomba Regional Council can also join the library free of charge on production of identification which proves their current residential address. The library is also free to all full-time students who are attending Toowoomba's educational facilities, including schools, TAFE and university.

Those people who live outside Toowoomba may join the library on payment of an annual fee of $42.00 which covers all members of the family residing at that address. The fee is reduced to $31.50 if the head of the family is entitled to a pensioner health benefit card.

Renewing Items

To renew items borrowed from the library, please contact the library in person or by phone. Items can also be renewed online by logging into the Library Catalogue at http://spydus2.toowoomba.qld.gov.au. On the left is a form with ID and PIN fields. Your ID is the number on your library card, and the PIN is usually the last four digits of your phone number (unless you have changed your PIN at some stage).
