St Saviour's Primary School

St Saviour's Primary School is a Catholic co-educational school catering for children from Prep to Year 7.

The oldest catholic school in the Toowoomba region, St Saviour's has a proud history in education. The school was originally opened on the corner of James and Neil Streets in 1863. It was originally called the Saint Patrick’s Church School, then The Cathedral School and finally renamed Saint Savour’s Primary School in 1959.

The school has been situated on its current site since 1899, and the current school building was built in 1976. Parts of the school building have recently been refurbished including the school office, multi-purpose room and tuckshop.

The school’s philosophy is centred on assisting students to become lifelong learners, and balancing a student’s "physical, spiritual, social and emotional growth with academic achievement and self-discipline".

As well as the normal school curriculum the school also offers a choir, band, drama club, instrumental music, arts council, annual year six and seven camps, biannual ski trip and sports training.

In the most recent performance results taken in 2007, the Year Seven class achieved above the state average in Reading, Writing and Numeracy tests.
