Martin Luther Primary School
Martin Luther is a co-educational Christian primary school for Preschool to Year 6.Part of the Concordia Lutheran College, Martin Luther Primary School is located on Toowoomba's southeast. The school was established in 1977 by the Lutheran congregations of Toowoomba. With only 178 students, the school has a tight community atmosphere, but can benefit from its link with the Concordia Lutheran College.
Set on 4.5 hectares, the school has a number of outdoor facilities including an oval, cricket pitches, tennis court, multi-purpose games area and playground equipment. Martin Luther Primary School also has a large, open library with an extensive range of reference, fiction, non-fiction and audio-visual resources, plus spacious air-conditioned classrooms, multi-purpose hall and computer lab.
The school focuses on a number of key learning areas including: Christian studies, English, mathematics, society and the environment, science, health and physical education, technology, German and the arts (music, art, drama and dance).
The school offers a three to five day Preschool program, which includes music, library and Christian studies, as well as a swimming program. The transition to Year 1 is also simplified with a six-week transition program. In 2006, the school’s Year 7 students achieved above the state average in reading, writing and numeracy and students have priority enrolment to Concordia College for their secondary education.
