Toowoomba Christian College

A co-educational, Christian school providing education to students from Prep to Year 12.

Part of Christian Schools Australia, the Toowoomba Christian College was founded in 1979. The school has a strong emphasis on applying the teachings of Christianity and applying the Scriptures to everyday life. A holistic approach to education is taken, preparing a student's spirit, soul, mind and body to serve God.

Students can study Prep right through to Year 12 at the Toowoomba Christian College. The school is broken into primary, junior high school and senior high school, each section of the school applying focus to important areas in a student's education.

Literacy and numeracy are a strong focus for students in the primary school. Each week computer skills, physical education, music and drama is taught. Students are encouraged to value their strengths and strengths of others and at the end of the year, students receive a certificate encouraging the development of one of their evident character traits.

The junior high school (Year 8 to 10) offers a range of electives including graphics, media, art, drama, woodwork, textiles and design and junior catering.

In the senior high school (Year 11 and 12) students are required to study maths and english and then choose three of biology, chemistry, physics, manual arts, information technology, media, graphics, art, hospitality and drama. Senior students are encouraged to complete studies in Vocation Education and Training (VET). The Toowoomba Christian College does not submit its year 12 students to be part of the Overall Position (OP) system operated by the Queensland Studies Authority.
